About Oonagh

Oonagh is a dynamic and highly experienced Occupational Therapist with over a decade of clinical experience across a wide range of settings in both the UK and Australia.

Oonagh takes a consistently person-centred and holistic approach, placing her clients' needs at the heart of every assessment, goal-setting process and intervention. Her broad clinical background spans housing adaptations, specialist equipment prescription, geriatric rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, Motor Neurone Disease, dementia and cognitive rehabilitation - giving her a versatile and well-rounded skillset that she brings to every client she works with.

She has extensive experience completing Disability Facilities Grants and Care Act grants for major and minor home adaptations, including level access showers, stairlifts and through-floor lifts, and is skilled in developing manual handling plans to ensure both client and carer safety.

Oonagh has worked across community, inpatient, emergency department and rehabilitation settings, and has supervised and mentored junior OTs and therapy assistants throughout her career. She has also been engaged in research as a blinded assessor for a randomised controlled trial at Edith Cowan University, demonstrating her commitment to evidence-based practice.

Currently working as an Advanced Occupational Therapist with South Gloucestershire Council, Oonagh is HCPC registered, DBS cleared and holds an accreditation in wheelchair services.
