About Cheryl
Cheryl qualified as an Occupational Therapist from Canterbury Christ Church University in 2009. She is a highly driven and motivated occupational therapist, comfortable working both autonomously and within a team. She has strong interpersonal skills and enjoys facilitating her clients to achieve their goals using an holistic, person centred and flexible approach. It is important to Cheryl that her clients feel heard, encouraged, supported and guided throughout the whole process of intervention.
Her passion and specialist areas of interest are in the fields of community rehabilitation; moving and handling; minor adaptation recommendation and provision; and working with clients in care homes with dementia and risk of falls. Cheryl is a qualified moving and handling assessor, advisor and trainer, having completed her ‘Train the Trainer qualification.
She has a diverse range of skills and experience having worked in both acute and community settings with clients with wide ranging physical; neurological; congenital and acquired conditions and injuries.
Her experience as a Disability assessor also enabled her to develop additional skills and knowledge base in relation to medications, mental health conditions and Autism Spectrum Disorder; as well as to hone her report writing skills by providing detailed reports for the DWP.
