Since qualifying as an Occupational Therapist in 1996, Cathy has gained experience working with adults and children with a diverse range of needs. She has worked extensively with children and young people with Developmental Co-ordination Disorder, ADHD, ASD, ODD/PDA, Down Syndrome and hypermobility as well as those with challenges in motor skill development, sensory integration/processing, sensory attachment and those who have experienced trauma.
About Cathy
Cathy has also worked with children and adults who have complex and severe neurological, physical, sensory and learning impairments; resulting from conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, Acquired Brain Injuries, Cerebral Vascular Accident, Parkinson’s and Multiple sclerosis.
Cathy’s paediatric experience developed from working with those with complex and severe physical and neurological disability to working with children with learning disabilities, behaviours that challenge and sensory and emotional difficulties. She has considerable experience focusing on childrens’ motor skill development and participation in learning. Her special interests include motor skills, sensory processing, attachment, emotional regulation and feeding difficulties.
