Independent Occupational Therapy Housing Needs Assessments:

Our specialist ‘housing’ occupational therapists are skilled and experienced in assessing our clients’ unique and individual requirements within their home environment.

Through in depth assessment and by listening to the needs of our clients, their families and carers, they find creative solutions meet the needs of everyone within the home.

Our therapists aim to maximise each client’s independence, inclusion , participation, dignity and comfort within the home environment.

Housing Assessments offered:

  • Full assessment of entire property

  • Assessment of potential property for purchase

  • Assessments to assist with new-build plans

  • Focused environmental assessment eg Bathroom; Kitchen; Access etc

  • Re-housing reports

Along with a detailed assessment report, our therapists can provide scaled drawings of the current and proposed property layouts to assist builders to carry out any recommended adaptations to the property.

Support with Housing Adaptations

Our therapists can provide support to our clients throughout the property adaptation process. They will carry out property visits with surveyors, builders and specialist equipment providers to ensure the adaptations are carried out in accordance with their professional recommendations in order to meet each client’s unique needs.

Assessments for Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG’s)

Our Housing OTs have in depth knowledge of the legislation and eligibility criteria applicable to DFGs.

They carry out thorough assessments and provide reports outlining their assessment findings, professional opinions and recommendations which clients can use for DFG applications.
