Inclusion.Me - Occupational Therapist Associate

Inclusion.Me are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic & highly motivated OT to work as part of our team in a new senior role designed to give the successful applicant a chance to gain experience of life as an independent OT without any the risks normally attached - you'll be part of a team, have regular monthly pay, receive full supervision & mentoring along with a personal training budget & role development plan.

Scope of Role:

Working on our client projects as an Occupational Therapist, working collaboratively with clients to assess the broad range of their needs with a “whole person” approach. You will negotiate and review the appropriate outcomes within the client parameters, carrying a complex case load of case work for a variety of our clients.

Targets for Role holder

  • To complete 7 high quality OT case allocations each week. (or pro rata if working part time)
  • To develop and monitor own standards of professional practice to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
  • To make professional decisions and provide advice to other consultants within the associate model
  • To assess for and recommend housing adaptations in line with current legislation and local processes. 

  • To assess for equipment and / or minor works to promote independence and safety. 

  • To authorise relevant documentation and ensure that all decisions / recommendations are evidence based.
  • To use effective communication to establish positive interpersonal relationships with other professionals and clients / their families.
  • To maintain appropriate and up to date records on work undertaken in accordance with Inclusion.Me policy and to adhere to confidentiality and Data Protection policy and procedures. 

  • To ensure that all workloads, are maintained within core contract KPI requirements.
  • To attend mandatory training courses and ensure that the requirements of HCPC in respect of practice standards, conduct and professional development. 

  • To ensure extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, and local agreed processes & procedures.

Essential skills

With detailed observational skills, you should be able to observe and analyse the needs of people in their home environment, to construct appropriate proportionate plans of action, initiate interventions either through your own actions or liaison with other departments and to support, monitor and review progress in a timely fashion.

This role requires you to have excellent communication skills (verbal, non-verbal and written) and to be a successful communicator with people of all ages, and nationalities. You should be capable of producing a high standard of written work and of working with support directly with members of the public. A positive outlook is essential, as is the ability to be flexible and practical.

As with most roles these days, you need to have great IT skills, to be capable of learning new systems quickly, and competent with Microsoft products, including Microsoft office. Good typing skills are essential.


You should be used to working autonomously. This role is for freelance, independent consultants, who have experience of managing themselves, their self-development, and the ability to manage clients and produce a high standard of output.

Essential qualifications

  • A degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Health Professions Council (HPC) registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Eligible for membership of Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
