Caroline Pomeroy: Occupational Therapist London, Kent & South East

Caroline graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2005 from Canterbury Christ Church University, Kent, with a BSc (First Class Hons) Occupational Therapy.

Caroline’s initial post qualification experience involved working in Acute Medical Wards, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Surgical Wards and Elderly Mental Health. During this period she gained extensive experience in working with patients with a wide variety of medical and multiple pathological conditions and the organisation of often complex hospital discharges. Later she worked in an Equipment and Adaptations Service, gaining a high level of experience and skill in the provision of major adaptations, moving and handling, and adaptations provided through Disabled Facilities Grants. More recently she has worked in local authority prevention and enablement services. Through careful use of equipment provision and targeted use of enablement techniques she has become skilled in the prevention and reduction of the need for a care package as well as enabling clients to maintain their safety and independence through the use of rehabilitation techniques. Caroline has also has been trained in and has developed experience in Safeguarding Adults through case involvement.

In 2009 Caroline qualified as a Best Interests Assessor (under the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) and has built up strong experience in this area of work.

Caroline is a private Occupational Therapist covering the Kent, London and the South East areas.
