New Disability Drop In Centre – Thanet Area
There is a new Disability Drop In Centre in the Thanet Area with various drop in points planned around the local area:
This centre is a multi-function, multi-agency establishment for disabled children and adults, as well as their families and carers.
There will be a relaxation area with settees and armchairs, in this area there will also be information for everyone to read and take away with them if they want too. This will give everyone a chance to talk to others and hopefully make new friends as well. A Café will be open for teas, coffees, juices, snacks and light lunches, these will be affordable and prices kept as low as possible.
Another room will also be in use for alternative therapies like Tai-Chi and meditation, etc, if they are required. Also the room will be used for hairdressing and a foot specialist.
There are information community sessions at the Gateway Plus every Friday afternoon from 1.00pm until 5.00pm. Other venues that will hold fortnightly information and social community sessions are Bugsy’s Bowling Alley in Cliftonville and UK Mobility, Margate (see calendar on website).
