September 30th, 2011Thus far my experiences have been limited.
I have mainly spent my time at a call centre, working for the Blue Badge team. I have been conducting telephone assessments to ascertain whether an applicant needs a mobility assessment, or has a condition that would negate the need for assessment, either proving eligible or ineligible, dependant on the medical information provided. This is an interesting position, as it allows me time to search for further info about a particular condition or disability, which has greatly improved my knowledge in some conditions and refreshed knowledge in others. “I am a professional photographer with a background in brain injury support work. Since last year I have been offering one-to-one or small group photography tuition for people with brain injuries. This is aimed at increasing the confidence, creativity and communication capabilities of brain injured people. It is 100% tailored to the individual. We can do anything from creative photography at home or on location, sports, portraiture, or photography with a therapeutic goal in mind, for example creating a “Life Book” or communication cards.

Occupational Therapist Private Practice Internship Post
June 11th, 2011We are looking for an OT with 2-3 years post qualification experience who is interested in a 6-12 months intern post which will involve a wide variety of roles including covering a part time blue badge role, housing association case work, Local authority assessments, vocational rehab, one off private OT assessments, social media / networking.
Hours an be flexible and the role should be a perfect way of gaining experience and developing skills to help get into private practice OT work.
